- Open Outlook
- Select ‘Tools’
- Select ‘Account Settings’
- Click on ‘New’
- Ensure that the first option ‘Microsoft Exchange, POP3’ is selected
- Click on ‘Manually configure server settings … ‘
- Click on ‘Next’
- Select ‘Internet Email’
- Complete Internet E‐mail settings, using the following guidelines
- POP3 = pop.yourdomain.co.za
- SMTP = smtp.yourdomain.co.za
- Username = user@yourdomain.co.za
- Password = your_password
- Once completed click on the ‘more’ button
- Select the ‘Outgoing server’ tab
- Ensure that the first option, ‘My outgoing server requires authentication‘ is checked on
- Ensure second option ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server‘ is checked on
- Select the ‘Advanced’ tab
- Set the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port to 587
- The Incoming Server (POP) Port should be set to the default setting, 110
- Click ‘OK’ to save these settings
- Click ‘Next’ and ‘Finish’
